I made a video on this topic a couple months back and it has by far been the most popular video on my YouTube channel to date! So, I thought it would be nice to do a fun little update for you all. I'll be reviewing the items that I mention in my video but also adding a few new fun supplies that I've come across that are now staples in my BuJo arsenal.

Let's dive in!

My love of Tombow Dual Brush pens is one that has really grown this past year. I have come to rely on them for so many awesome uses. Watercolor, lettering, highlighting, using them with brushes, using them on their own... I can't get enough of these amazing markers! One of my favorite uses when it comes to bullet journaling, has to be hands down using them as highlighters.

Now, I will mention, that since they are water based you want to be sure to highlight FIRST, and write SECOND. Otherwise, you end up with a smudgy effect, and that's just no bueno.

Next up is another Tombow favorite, the Fudenosuke brush pen (hard tip). I am a calligrapher so any chance that I can utilize my hand lettering into my bujo I am jumping at it! What I love about this particular brush pen is that it creates such beautiful crisp and clean lettering. Since my Leucchturm is the standard A5 size, it isn't super huge so I need to be able to do my lettering with a pen that won't take up the whole page. If you feel like black (or grey) isn't your cup of tea, I suggest trying the Pentel Fude Touch Brush Sign pens. They write similarly and come in an awesome assortment of colors!

Here are some more examples of lettering with this pen.

Other must haves on my list have to be Micron pens. They are waterproof, fade proof, and archival which means they work awesome with the brush pens and any other colored pens you'd like to use. They are especially fun for adding artwork to your spreads. The pens come in so many varying thicknesses that you can really create detail and dimension with your art.

Some fun new markers I've been trying are the Crayola SuperTips! I was surprised to find that I could actually create calligraphy with these markers. Ordinarily I would be skeptical about using such a rudimentary tool for creating beautiful hand lettering but let me tell you, these are cheap, work great, and have such lovely colors!! These are awesome for those of you wanting to get some new supplies but don't want to drop a pretty penny on more expensive markers. You're welcome ;-)

For my everyday lettering, I am very very particular with the pens that I use. They can only be gel and the point has to be superfine. I used to only use MUJI pens for this purpose but found that they tend to smudge a bit and aren't as readily available for me when I need them. So, I searched my local Paper Source and found the loves of my life... the Pilot G-TEC-C4 in 0.4. It is a beautiful writing tool that never skips, has very long lasting ink, and creates gorgeous crisp clean hairlines. Try them, you won't regret it!

Other non-pen related items I love are my Tomobow MONO Sand Eraser. This thing is magic when it comes to erasing ink marks. I don't know about you, but sometimes I'll be working on my perfect layout and have all my lines drawn in when suddenly I realize... ugh! I went over too far!!! So yes, for those instances, a quick little buff with the sand eraser is all you need. I also swear by my tiny 6" ruler. It is key for traveling since you can just pop it into the back pocket of your journal.

So that's it! Let me know what supplies you guys like to use. I am always up for trying something new!

xo
